The Finnish Reservists in Brussels

Brysselin Reserviläiset (The Finnish Reservists in Brussels) is an association for all Finland-minded defense enthusiasts living and working in Brussels and the Benelux countries.

Who are we?

We are the first Finnish defense association operating outside Finland. Our purpose is to strengthen Finland’s international defense competence by drawing on our members’ broad professional and societal networks in Europe.

One of our key goals is to make the exceptionally strong international expertise of Finnish citizens living in Brussels available to the Finnish Defence Forces, and to develop new types of international competence profiles that can be utilized in Finland’s defense and security efforts.

What do we do?

Brysselin Reserviläiset promotes national defense spirit and camaraderie among Finns working in the European capital.

We organize defense-themed discussions and events — both officially, hosted by EU and NATO representations, offering high-level insights into current security affairs, and informally, through our traditional “reservist afterworks” on the first Thursday of each month.

We are also active promoters of international cooperation. Our members have participated in the Nijmegen Marches in 2024 and 2025, and we regularly organize visits and events in collaboration with other Finnish reservist associations and institutions in Brussels.
